The primary purpose of dust mite duvet covers is to create a barrier between the sleeper and potential allergens.

Launder your duvet protector at temperatures of 60 degrees Celsius or below. If necessary, you can tumble dry on a warm setting. Use regular detergent for washing.

It's beneficial for the duvet cover to remain on the bed for extended periods. When it's time to wash, take the duvet to the laundry area and remove the cover there, leaving the duvet itself unsealed during the wash. After washing, reseal the quilt in the laundry area before returning the encased quilt to the bedroom. Avoid leaving the quilt unsealed while on the bed.
